Newlyweds Gloria And Matt Barnes Cover Rolling Out Magazine

These two are too cute...Love it! Check out the interview excerpts below:

On their 8 month break from each other
Gloria : We took an eight month hiatus. Now that we’re back together, we’re mainly focused on becoming friends again and mainly parents too. We got into such a routine that we forgot to do all the lovey dovey stuff like date nights. I grew so much over those eight months.
Now I have to be like, ‘Uh uh, I know I used to like that because you liked it but I said all that to be cute for you! I don’t like eggs mother—! So now he’s really getting to now me. That’s fun.
Matt: We love each other. As a young couple you need to experience stuff and live your life and do things sometimes on your own. I understood that and she understood that. It was a small break that was hard but at the time was needed. It brought us closer together and we’re a lot stronger now.”

Matt on why he will not be returning to Basketball Wives LA
Matt: I’ve been a side piece to ‘Basketball Wives. I’ve never been a main character so to speak. This season I’m completely not in the show. I think for the sake of our relationship it was best to fall back and not put our stuff out there like before for people to pick and pry through. This time around we’re gonna do what works for us and not what society wants us to do.

On when the two will get married
Gloria: It’s not that we’re not interested; it’s just not now. I don’t think it’ll be what people are expecting. I’ll probably be like ‘hey, I got married girl,’ wanna come to the party? I’ll probably send out a flyer for the party,”
Matt’s a traditionalist so he’ll want a big wedding. Which I would do [for him], but it won’t be like a Kim Kardashian wedding. It’ll be like, ‘you want some barbecue?’. [...] Marriage is something I want to do, it’s just not on my number one priority list. Maybe, don’t tell him I said this…maybe another baby,” says Gloria in a whisper.

Gloria on if she truly meant what she said about wanting to kick Evelyn and Jackie Christie azzes
Absolutely [I stick by that.] My feelings are what they are to Evelyn, I don’t like to kick anyone while they’re down but…I think they’re a cute couple I honestly do [Chad and Evelyn] and I know Chad really loves her. Mainly I hope they keep people out of their relationship. That’s what I’ve had to do. Jackie Christie has a mouth piece on her, she’ll make a paraplegic feel bad for her. The way she kind of suckers you in with her words; she’ll give you so many compliments to the point that you’re like ‘damn, okay!’ [extends arms] Give me a hug girl. She’s someone you have to accept, she’s like a beauty mark or a birthmark. It’s like ‘damn that sh— terrible, but it’s there. You work around it.

Wiz Khalifa, Amber Rose & Her Baby Bump Cover XXL

Amber On Giving Birth:
I’m so ready. I’m going all-natural. I’ve decided that I’m going to have an all-natural water birth. No medicine. I want those bragging rights! The next time Wiz has a stomachache or anything, I’ll say, ‘I popped out a baby all-natural.’

Amber On Wiz:
[H]e’s just a genuine sweet guy. And that’s what made me fall in love with him. And I just said, “You know what, I don’t care if he’s a rapper.” I don’t care if people say, “Oh, you’re a gold-digger.” I don’t care if people say, “Oh, you went from one rapper to another,” or whatever. I love him. I don’t look at him as a rapper. I look at him as Cameron Thomaz, not even Wiz Khalifa. I just fell so deeply in love with him, I didn’t care what anyone says.”
Wiz On Getting Together With Amber:
I love my baby. She’s gorgeous and it makes me look even cooler when I show how much I love her to other people… When I met Amber, she loved me for who I was. I had some money, but it was like to pay my bills and literally set myself up for a future. But I was wearing the same camo shorts and high-tops and Chucks. But she liked my swag and she liked me for who I was and I wasn’t afraid of that… She didn’t wanna date any entertainers or anybody in the business. She didn’t know who she wanted to be with, but she knew who she didn’t wanna be with.

Wiz On Recording His New Album With Amber At Home:

I just gotta do it. The most important thing is knowing that she is there and I have to tend to my babies. This is my first child ever in life. I gotta go hard at everything. As hard as I go in the studio, I gotta go just as hard taking care of my baby and making sure she’s alright, and I’m spending time with her and she doesn’t feel neglected.

These two are so adorable together and Amber looks fierce with the baby bump. It was a good idea to keep the secret for the first five months because everyone loves them even more now. OnPointCelebz!

Jaden Smith Speaks On Personal Style, Relationships & Best Advice He’s Ever Received From His Father

Will Smith’s mini me recently sat down for an interview with The Life Files and it seems as though he has learned a lot from his father.  Rocking gear from his Msfts clothing line, Jaden talked how he first met Justin Bieber as well as being criticized for his fashion choices and how he got started with his own clothing company. He also revealed that he’d prefer to watch ‘Steve Job interviews’ over reality TV any day while sharing the best advice he’s ever received from his father.
It was a pretty good interview for a 14 year old.

Catch the excerpts below:
On His Fashion Choices
I have this image in my head of what I think an amazing fashion person would look like, and I really just take whatever I would want to wear and I just put it on. Sometimes you get criticized for it, [but] give it two months and everybody’s wearing it. I just really like that skater look — wake up in the morning and throw some clothes on still looking fly, you know what I mean? I get a lot of my fashion just from things that I see, inspiration just comes in and out in the day. I don’t think that I’m a fashion guru or anything. I just put on stuff to go skate. Sometimes people like it, sometimes they don’t. [Points to his clothes] These are just random skate shoes…. And a top shop [jacket] and a Msfts tee and pants. That’s my company that I make. It’s basically just like a skate lifestyle company. I basically wear the same thing everyday.

On His Fashion Line
It started off with the music and in my raps I would always refer to me and my friends as ‘msfts.’ Then we trademarked it and started making these shirts and stuff and everything and I started really getting into fashion. And then once I started really getting into fashion, I started making everything and I got my sister involved and then it’s like a full on thing that we’re doing now. That’s where I get all of my like, cheetah pants and zebra pants. I probably get criticized most from that.

On whether he watches Reality TV.
I watch like, Steve Jobs interviews, I don’t really watch TV. I stopped watching TV when I turned like ten because my parents were like, ‘TV’s really bad for you.’ I’ll watch movies I like to see, Steve Jobs interviews, something that’s going to make me smart and then go to sleep. I always have to go to sleep with the TV on though. I’m always watching something, I just don’t like watching TV. I don’t like being sold something every five minutes a commercial comes up.[...]We have iPhones now. If I want to see  [what my family has] coming up I [would just] Google it.
On Working on ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ With His Dad
It was pretty cool, you know. We were working together and it was fun until we get into a scene and we were both very serious about it but it was cool. It was fun having that experience with my dad ’cause he really taught me a lot of the stuff that he knows. Almost everything he knows about acting in that one movie.

On The Best Advice His Dad Has Ever Given Him
My dad one time told me, he was like, ‘The only time you should lie is when someone’s holding a gun to your head and says ‘Okay, lie or I’m going to shoot you.’ And that really stuck with me. I think about that a lot. I used to not be really honest with girls and then I dropped a song called ‘Starry Room’ and then I started turning over a new leaf. Now, I’m completely honest with girls all the time and they just get mad at me.
I had recently gotten out of a relationship so I made this song that was really heartfelt for me — some of my best lyrics. Me and that girl’s anniversary was gonna come up so I decided to drop it and [interviewer interrupts: How long were y'all together!? Anniversary?! Six years, ten years!?] *laughs* It was like a month-iversary. You know how teens are.
Jaden is the cutest little thing...adorable!

Beyonce and Jay-Z raised $4 million for President Obama during Fundraiser

Last night, the power couple raised over $4 million dollars for the Obama campaign by hosting a fundraiser dinner at Jay-z’s 40/40 Club which cost a whopping $40,000 a plate for attendees.  A few Obama supporters who wanted to go but didn’t have that type of money, received an email last week from Beyonce offering them a chance to attend if they donated just $9 bucks to the Obama campaign by midnight.
While guests enjoyed dinner, the President applauded Beyonce for being a role model to his daughters while joking about the things he has in common with Jay-z:
BeyoncĂ© couldn’t be a better role model for our daughters because she carries herself with such class and poise  and has so much talent. And Jay-Z now knows what my life is like. (Laughter.) We both have daughters, and our wives are more popular than we are. So we’ve got a little bond there. It’s hard, but it’s okay.
Obama’s DJ, yes I know I said the same thing, also had kind words to say about the couple for openly endorsing the President and showing support by raising money for his campaign:
I think it sends an important message for Jay-Z and BeyoncĂ© to throw this fundraiser … that it’s important for people that support the president to actually support the president. I know that Jay-Z and BeyoncĂ© had gotten some flak recently for not supporting their community. I think this just goes to show that they do support their community. I think that people should put their money where their mouth is. DJs across the country, artists across the country, no matter what kind of artists they are, it’s one thing to support it and just talk about it, but it’s another thing to actually go out there and do something.

Gabrielle Union Writes Encouragement To Younger Self on Beauty, Self-Worth and True Love In Ebony

Ebony Magazine loves Gabrielle Union. She’s covering the mag for the second time this year, (the first with Dwyane Wade) and in the cover story, she’s penned a letter to her younger self. In the note, she encourages her younger self to be comfortable with her skin tone and to not let low self-esteem trick her into believing that she has low value. She also tells her younger self and other young women to never worry about love, love will find you and you will find love in an incredible man.
Check out a few excerpts below.

To her younger self
Your deep Mahogany skin may not resemble that of the others in your family, but it’s just as gorgeous and you’re just as worthy…One day you’ll appreciate how much your brown skin shines in the moonlight, glistens in the sun and ages ever so slowly.
On her self-worth and true love
Don’t let that pesky low self-esteem creep in and fool you into believing that you don’t have value…don’t allow it to crush your will or dampen your spirit…Never worry about LOVE…real love will find you…an incredible love with an incredible man…there is a beautiful rainbow at the end of your storm.
Don’t let other people’s needs, wants, desires, fantasies, hopes or dreams dictate your choices and decisions. Follow your own path, and don’t worry that you’re being selfish or disloyal.
You can read the entire story in the October Issue of Ebony Magazine, on news stands September 10th.

Jill Scott Rocks A Close Cut Natural On The Cover Of Essence

Jill Scott looks absolutely radiant on the cover of the October 2012 Issue of Essence Magazine. Ms.Scott seems to be on a new page in her life after moving on from her failed engagement and signing a new deal with Warner Brothers which resulted in a #1 album last year.

She explains why she chose to pose for the cover of Essence natural without weave or a wig:
“This is the simplest form of myself. I look in the mirror and it’s like, ‘Hey, there you go. What’s up, girl?’ For me, hair is an accoutrement. Hair is jewelry. It’s an accessory. Tomorrow I may want a wig down to my butt and I’m gonna rock it, and the next day I may want a big Afro and I’m gonna rock that too…
It is nice to see black women ot affaid to be natural...its OnPoint! Natural Beauty is the best beauty!

Lil Scrappy and Erica Pose For Rolling Out Magazine

This is what Scrappy told the mag:

On people thinking he’s deadbeat dad after watching Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta- “They kept saying I was a bad father. That was the one thing that kept getting to me. It was messed up because they heard Erica say one thing, and then they took it and ran with it. I have always been there for Erica and Emani, so it kind of got to me when they would say that."

On why he put a ring on Erica: “It was time for me to do something really grown. So I popped the question and the beautiful lady said yes … that’s why she has the ring on her finger. But now we’re just waiting for the next big step. I wasn’t trying to play around with it for a hundred years. I wanted to do something really big.”

When I saw Scrappy propose to Erica I wanted to cry...Too Cute! Erica was so happy. It was great to see that emotion. I wish them all the best in their marriage.

Michael Clarke Duncan passed at the age of 54

At the age of 54, Michael Clarke Duncan died at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was being treated for a heart attack, said his fiancée, reality TV personality Rev. Omarosa Manigault, in a statement released by publicist Joy Fehily.
Duncan "suffered a myocardial infarction on July 13 and never fully recovered," the statement said. "Manigault is grateful for all of your prayers and asks for privacy at this time. Celebrations of his life, both private and public, will be announced at a later date."
Tom Hanks, star of 1999's "The Green Mile" — the film that earned a then-little-known Duncan a supporting-actor nomination at the Academy Awards — said he was "terribly saddened at the loss of Big Mike. He was the treasure we all discovered on the set of 'The Green Mile.' He was magic. He was a big love of man and his passing leaves us stunned."
"I will miss my friend, Michael Clarke Duncan," comedian and talk-show host Steve Harvey said on Twitter. "What an incredible soldier in God's Plan." Other sad and shocked reactions came from a diverse field that included Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, actresses Alexa Vega, Niecy Nash and Olivia Munn, and former boxing champion Lennox Lewis.
