Hip Hop Manager Chris Lighty Found Dead From Apparent Suicide

Hip Hop Mogul Chris Lighty Found Shot Dead due to apparent suicide The long time manager of 50 Cent, Diddy, Ja Rule, and Mariah Carey was found dead this morning in NYC from what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. His body was found by police around 11:30 AM in the backyard of his Bronx apartment. Lighty was pronounced dead on the scene, where a semi-automatic firearm was recovered. The death is being investigated as a suicide. Earlier today, he was involved in a spat with his ex-wife at his South Riverdale apartment and law enforcement sources also believe he was dealing with financial struggles, including a $5 million tax debt to the IRS. When he first started in the music industry, Chris work alongside DJ Red Alert and moved on to working as a road manager for Boogie Down Productions. Later, he worked with groups like A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and The Jungle Brothers, and worked with Russell Simmons RUSH Management company before forming Violator Management.

This is so sad. This is the second music exec to take his life in the last four year. The Hip Hop work is definitely feeling his tragedy today.

Boris and Nicole talks "Relationship" in Rolling Out Magazine

Boris Kodjoe and Nicole Ari-Parker, have been together for seven years. The ar aboslutly the cutest couple in the world.The two recently posed for the covet of Rolling Out. They both look wonderful...OnPoint! Photography and Interview by Dewayne Rogers.
In there interview they talked a little bit about relationship and how they make their marriage of seven years work. Take a read and listen to some of the tips they give, it may help in your relationship.

Highlights of the interview:

On the easiest and hardest part of parenting and marriage
Nicole: Being a parent is the hardest job ever in life. Raising children uses every bit of your being — your heart, your time, your patience, your foresight, your intuition to protect them, and you have to use all of this while trying to figure out how to discipline them. It takes its toll on a marriage as well. The time that should be spent with each other after the kids have gone to bed is usually spent face down, in your clothes, on the sofa with the remote control in your hand. It’s exhausting  …  but we’ve been married for seven years, and I think that the greatest challenge but also the greatest gift, is understanding that I’m way more capable than what I think I am.  You have to work hard not to take your partner for granted, even when you are tired.  We have a special needs child, so we also have to get up in the middle of the night and check on her.  So, I’ve been pushed to the limits that I thought I had, and I’ve gone beyond those … that’s been the greatest gift throughout this journey with my husband.
Boris: As far as our marriage goes, again it’s all about priorities. We make sure that we put in some sexy time, and we go out on date nights and spend quality time together, because we were here first.  Everything else is a reflection of that. If she and I are good, then everything else is good. So it’s very important that we put in the time to cherish each other.
Boris On How He knew Nicole was the one
We had instant chemistry, and right away there was an attraction, but it was more on a spiritual level. I knew right away that she was going to be in my life forever. I didn’t know in what capacity, but I just felt that. That just happens when you meet a person that is on the same wavelength. We saw eye-to-eye on so many things. She was open minded, well traveled, and had a great sense of humor — which are all very important to me. The fact that she became my wife was definitely a bonus. It worked because we were friends and liked each other as people first, which is very important in a relationship. You can fall in and out of love, but if you like each other as people, then I think that’s a great foundation to grow a relationship, and we had that, so I’m very lucky.

Boris: My wife makes me feel like the king of the world when after a long day of working she tells me to put my feet up and cooks an amazing meal for me.

Its has been another year without The King Of Pop and every year its hard to believe he is dead. I know this may sound corny but Michael Jackson was one of the individuals I wanted to meet when I got my production things together. I wanted to meet him and have a real conversation with him. I was torn when I heard he died. I was in total disbelief. Michael Jackson music is my playlist I listen to when I was feeling down because his music always made you feel good. Michael Jackson's Legacy will live on forever and people will know he was here.

I opened it and began reading, I thought that was the cutest email ever. I know that his angel's will be touched when read this. From My Heart…

I want to share my deepest feelings with you on how appreciative I am to have fans, friends, Angels and loved ones like you all. This journey I began over 10 years ago has taught me so much. It has given me the faith to believe, the strength to overcome and courage to wear my heart on my sleeve for you. I don’t ever take it for granted that every album, ticket, t-shirt and download you buy, every tweet you send, every song or video you request, and every person you’ve ever said my name to is a blessing and gift of your love to me. Just think about how far we have come. How purpose, persistence, and passion for what we love has brought us to this point. Our Angels with Hearts foundation has given hope and opportunity to so many people around the world. We’re changing lives together, we’ve elected a president together.
